General Education Information
General Education Requirements
探花族 has released a new set of general education requirements for students entering in the Fall 2026 semester or for students that are declaring a new major starting in the Fall 2026 semester. The general education curriculum is (*Disclaimer- The information below is a repersentation of the general education requirements, students should refer to the for the official requirements. The catalog is considered the official source of information in the event of any descrepencies in this informaiton):
- JU 111/169H- First Year Seminar (3 Credits)
- ENGL 103- Composition (3 Credits)
- Lab Science (4 Credits)
- Mathematical Reasoning- MR designated course (3-4 Credits)
- Global Studies-FREN/SPAN 102 or IS course (3 Credits)
- Fine Arts (3 Credits)
- Humanities- Two 鈥淎鈥 designated courses from: ENGL, HUM, PHIL at 100 or 200 level (must be different prefixes)
- Social Sciences-One 鈥淏鈥 designated course from: ECON, HIST, POL at 100 or 200 level and One 鈥淏鈥 designated course from: GEOG, PSY, SOC at 100 or 200 level
- Further Study-Any additional 鈥淎鈥 or 鈥淏鈥 course (cannot count towards a student鈥檚 major)
Total credit hours general education: 34-35

University Requirements for All Bachelor Degrees (BA, BS, BBA, and BFA)
In addition to the requirements above, all undergraduate students must meet University requirements to earn a bacehlor degree. The requirements are:
- 2.0 cumlative gpa in all coursework
- 2.0 gpa in major courses
- Complete 120 Credit Hours (42 must be at the 300 level or above)
- Completion of all major requirements
- Completion of the following designated courses*:
- Technology Intensive (TI)
- Speech Intensive (SI)
- Writing Intensive (WI)
- Experiential Learning (EL)
- WAVE Course
